Pharmaceutical and specialty chemical plants need steady, controllable heat for reactors, distillation and drying. A thermic fluid heater delivers high process temperatures without the high pressure of a steam system.
Balkrishna Boilers Pvt. Ltd. has installed its VTM Series Solid Fuel Fired Thermic Fluid Heater (VTM 6 Lac model) at Infinium Pharmachem Limited (Infinium).
About Infinium Pharmachem Limited
Infinium is an innovative organisation that develops, manufactures and exports a wide range of iodine derivatives. These are used in the pharmaceutical, chemical, biotech and allied industries worldwide. Its portfolio covers 200+ iodine derivatives and 15+ APIs, and it offers contract research and manufacturing services.
Its Gujarat plant is ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015 certified, FDA approved and GMP compliant. Plants like this need heating utilities that are consistent, safe and dependable around the clock.
What Is the VTM Series?
The VTM Series is a high-efficiency, vertical three-pass thermic fluid heater. It delivers high process temperatures at very low operating pressure. It is built to fire a wide range of solid fuels, including coal, wood, briquettes and agro-waste such as bagasse and rice husk.
The three-pass radiant-convective design makes the hot gases travel through the heater three times. This transfers more heat to the thermal oil and helps reduce fuel costs.
Why a Thermic Fluid Heater Suits Pharma and Chemical Plants
- High heat at low pressure: Reach process temperatures while the system stays at or near atmospheric pressure. This improves plant safety compared with steam systems.
- Reactors and distillation: Thermal oil gives stable, controllable heating for jacketed reactors and distillation units.
- Specialised drying: Consistent heat supports drying processes.
- Lower fuel cost: Solid and agro-waste fuels can cost less than premium fuels.
Robust Engineering and Site-Built Furnace
Our engineering team oversees the complete setup:
- Combustion system: Fuel handling, stoking equipment, and an air and flue gas system with I.D. and F.D. fans.
- On-site furnace construction: Refractory chambers, foundation, grate bars and firing doors, built at the customer’s site.
- Grate options: Grate, inclined perforated grate or flat grate, depending on the fuel.
- Environmental compliance: Each unit is integrated with pollution control equipment to meet local emission standards.
- Durable build: Strong supporting structures and access doors for long-term, 24/7 industrial use.
Key Advantages of the VTM Series
- Agro-fuel compatibility to lower fuel bills
- Three-pass efficiency for maximum heat transfer to the thermal oil
- High heat at low pressure for safer operation
- Flexible fuel use across coal, wood, briquettes, bagasse and more
- Industrial durability for continuous running
Where Else Is the VTM Series Used?
Besides chemical and pharma, the VTM Series serves textiles (dyeing, printing, stenters), plywood and laminates (hot presses, drying kilns), food processing (frying, roasting, edible oil refining) and packaging and paper (corrugation and coating machines).
