Frequently Asked Questions

Horizontal heaters, like our DELTAPAC series, offer easier access for maintenance, cleaning, and coil inspection. They are ideal for facilities with ample floor space but restricted ceiling height, and they generally provide a more stable foundation for high-capacity burners.

Safety and cost. To get 300°C from steam, you would need a dangerous pressure of nearly 85 bar. A thermic fluid heater achieves 300°C at near-atmospheric pressure (1–3 bar), eliminating the risk of high-pressure explosions and the need for heavy-walled piping.

In many jurisdictions, because these units operate at low pressure and are not "steam boilers," they do not require a first-class or second-class certified boiler attendant, significantly reducing your monthly labor costs.

It is a multi-fuel system compatible with:

  • Liquid Fuels: HSD (Diesel), LDO, and Furnace Oil (FO).
  • Gaseous Fuels: Natural Gas (PNG), LPG, and Biogas.
  • Dual-Fuel: Burners that can switch between oil and gas at the flick of a switch.

Our standard oil/gas units easily achieve 300°C. For specialized industrial processes, we can custom-engineer units that reach up to 340°C using synthetic thermal fluids.

The DELTAPAC series features a three-pass helical coil design that maximizes heat absorption. It achieves a thermal efficiency of 87% to 90% (NCV). Efficiency can be further enhanced by adding a waste heat recovery unit.

We use a "Low Heat Flux" design with precisely calculated flow velocities. This ensures the oil never reaches its "cracking" temperature at the tube surface, significantly extending the life of your thermic fluid.

We offer a wide range of capacities from 0.1 Million kcal/hr to 10.0 Million kcal/hr, suitable for everything from small chemical reactors to large-scale textile stenters.

In a three-pass system, the hot gases travel the length of the heater three times. This longer "residence time" ensures that almost all the heat from the fuel is transferred to the oil before the gases exit the chimney.

  • Textiles: For stenters, drying ranges, and polymerization.
  • Chemical & Pharma: For jacketed reactors and distillation.
  • Plywood & Laminates: For high-temperature hydraulic presses.
  • Food Processing: For industrial frying (chips/namkeen) and edible oil refining.
  • Road Construction: For heating bitumen and asphalt tanks.

Yes. You can use the hot thermic fluid to heat an Unfired Steam Generator (USG). This allows you to produce "clean" steam for your process while keeping the primary heating system low-pressure and simple.

Safety is our priority. Every heater is equipped with a Differential Pressure Switch. If the oil flow drops below a safe level, the burner automatically shuts down to prevent the coils from overheating or burning out.

  • High Temperature Cut-off: Prevents oil overheating.
  • Stack Temperature Monitor: Detects if heat is being wasted or if coils are fouled.
  • Flame Sensor: Shuts off fuel if the flame is not detected.
  • Expansion Tank: To safely manage the volume change as the oil heats up.

We recommend a "Flash Point" and "Viscosity" test every 6 months. This tells you if the oil is aging or if "carbonization" is occurring inside the coils.

Yes. Most of our horizontal units are skid-mounted, meaning the heater, pump, and control panel are pre-wired and tested at our factory for quick onsite installation.

Pricing depends on the kcal/hr capacity and the burner type. For 2025, estimated prices at indianboilers.com are:

  • 1 Lac to 4 Lac kcal/hr: ₹4,00,000 – ₹7,50,000.
  • 6 Lac to 10 Lac kcal/hr: ₹9,00,000 – ₹15,00,000.
  • 20 Lac kcal/hr and above: ₹25,00,000+.
  • Prices vary based on automation and burner brands like Riello or Elco.

The biggest cost drivers are the Capacity, the Burner Technology (Single stage vs. Modulating), and whether you require a Dual-Fuel setup or additional heat recovery accessories.

The ROI is typically 12 to 15 months. Savings come from 90% thermal efficiency, zero water treatment costs (unlike steam), and the absence of high-pressure regulatory expenses.
